The UAE Health Research Portal

Glance for the Health Research Portal

In partnership with Elsevier, the National Center for Health Research (NCHR) at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has established the Health Research Portal. This portal provides data and information about the UAE's health and biomedical research publications. It includes research publications issued by academic institutions, healthcare institutions, the private sector, and researchers in medical topics and basic sciences related to health fields from 2017 up to the present day.

Benefits of the Health Research Portal

The database provides high-quality information and quantitative indicators of research published by subscribing to the global research platform Pure-Elesiver, based on extracting data on research published in the United Arab Emirates from the SCOPUS database. In addition, the platform also provides user-friendly access to reliable data that health entities and institutions can use to develop strategies, policies, and comparisons in the research performance of data-based academic and healthcare institutions. It also significantly strengthens cooperation between academic and health institutions inside and outside the UAE in conducting health research.

Objectives of the Health Research Portal

  • Providing data on topics and fields of published health research in a high-quality manner enables researchers and institutions to develop studies or research and development plans to raise the level of performance in health research indicators in the country.
  • Enabling decision-makers in relevant health and federal entities to obtain information based on high-quality data that helps develop policies and strategic plans in those entitles.
  • The platform represents a reliable source for researchers in carrying out studies related to health research or related to research and development in the UAE.
  • Expanding opportunities for cooperation with international bodies, whether at the institutional or researcher level, with similar bodies in the fields of health and medical research.
  • Strengthening the health research ecosystem and providing a database of published research for relevant health and federal bodies to obtain reliable data quickly and with high quality to leverage in developing relevant studies, policies, or strategic plans.
